Our Actions

YOUTH AND INCLUSION

Young people play a vital role in the challenges of the transition. We are committed to educating, raising awareness and engaging young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are often far removed from the concerns of transition issues, yet who are strongly affected by global warming and social inclusion.

The Youth Program

6 months

250 high schoolers

10 high schools in priority neighborhoods

The Youth Program aims to develop the active participation of young people in building a sustainable future.

The highlights of the Youth Program are

  • Taking part in workshops to share ideas and develop critical thinking in a context of misinformation.
  • Discovering documentaries or films to raise awareness
  • Creating a collective project to promote their identity and their dreams: speeches, stage performances, etc.
  • Meeting with business leaders and political figures
  • Exchanging with entrepreneurs committed to environmental and social issues, and electing a “Coup de Coeur des Lycéens” (High schoolers’ favorite).
  • Volunteering for an environmental issue

The Inclusion Program

1 day

300+ young people aged 16 to 25 from priority neighbourhoods or rural areas

Organized in partnership with several youth associations, the inclusion program aims to raise awareness and engage young people at the ChangeNOW Summit, the world’s largest event for solutions for the planet.

Every year, the ChangeNOW Summit brings together over 1,000 solutions and 40,000 participants from all over the world at the Grand Palais in Paris, to accelerate the ecological and social transition.

The Inclusion Program includes:

  • Discovering exhibited solutions and inspiring conferences
  • Gamifying young people’s experience, via a mobile application and a competition for participants and their associations
  • Attending exclusive meetings with leading politicians, sports personalities, media personalities, entrepreneurs and business leaders, and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds

Meeting recruiters and training organizations working in the fields of ecological and social transition

Art and Culture

Artists are agents of change, both through their creative processes and through the messages conveyed by their works.

“Transitions can only be made by appealing to both reason and feelings. Artists are particularly gifted at provoking emotions”.

Ronan de la Croix, artistic curator for ChangeNOW Communities

The committed art exhibition

3 days

10 French and international artists

40,000 visitors

The goal of this art exhibition, organized as part of the ChangeNOW Summit, is to provoke emotions, spark discussions and encourage all Summit participants to commit to the environmental and social transition.

Each year, artists and mediators are on hand during the 3-day Summit to present the exhibition to the 40,000 participants and facilitate over 120 guided tours.

The multidisciplinary artistic program invites participants to reflect on the major issues of our century, with:

  • A monumental work of art created for the occasion, exhibited at the entrance to the ChangeNOW Summit. Through this commission, the ChangeNOW Communities association supports artistic production dedicated to ecological and social transition.
  • Exhibitions by committed photographers and painters
  • Interactive artworks
  • Committed artistic performances: dance, music, theater

The art exhibition is sustainable and circular, from its production to the messages it conveys. The artworks and signage use materials from sustainable sources or reuse. Several partner companies and institutions are working with us to develop a circular exhibition, from the sourcing of materials to the second life of the artworks.

Citizen engagement

Democratic highlights

The ChangeNOW Communities association organizes democratic debates on the ecological and social transition issues, with the mission of engaging citizens, and especially young people, in these reflections and the actions to be taken.

  • The 1st democratic debate of the heads of list at the European elections, 100% dedicated to the transition and broadcast on TV. This debate, held in May 2024, just before the European elections, was broadcast to a cumulative audience of over 10 million on franceinfo channel 27, francetvinfo.fr and on the YouTube channel of influencer Gaspard G.
  • The Youth Parliament: over 300 young people mobilized to exchange views and put forward their recommendations for building a sustainable and desirable world, in the presence of the UN Secretary General for Youth.

Volunteering activities open to all

Since its creation, the ChangeNOW Communities association has been mobilizing and leading a community of over 2,000 citizen volunteers, and coaching them in volunteer actions at various events dedicated to the ecological and social transition.
